Parts Finishing Group operates two plants in Detroit, Michigan - Bellevue Processing and Metal Prep - which are dedicated to also provide shot peening and shot blasting services. In addition, PFG provides shot blasting services out of our plants in Queretaro, Mexico, and Warren, Michigan.
PFG has a huge bank of equipment including the following types of equipment: Large 27-28 cu. ft. wheelabrater and Pangborn airless machines, numerous spinner hanger type machines, indexing table machines, flow thru type, hand cabinets, blast rooms and skewer roll flow to process tubular products and round bar stock.
Shot Peening
Dating back to 2700 B.C. man has made metal objects stronger by means of mechanical pre-stressing. Hammering the metal to sharpen the edge or form it to a shield also made it tough.
This hammering process, known today as Shot Peening, has been refined to the art of directing the shot to a precise area providing a repeatable consistent process.
This process reduces premature failure by improvements in fatigue strength. With results as great as 10 to 100 percent improvement in fatigue strength, it can mean as much as 100 to 1200 percent improvement in tool life. PFG plants provide both mechanical and air nozzle shot peening services.
The shot peening process can be validated by the use of Almen strip testing or a third party testing by Lamb Research X-Ray Defraction Certification.
Shot Blasting and Glass Bead Blasting
A world class method used for cleaning and preparing parts for coating. One of Bellevue Processing's most unique applications is the ability to process parts with several different grades of glass bead and steel shot media using air nozzle table blasting or air nozzle tumble blasting.
Coarse Grade: Used for more aggressive cleaning
Medium Grade: Used for general purpose cleaning
Fine Grade: Used for delicate parts
