Group has one stand alone honing company called
MICHIGAN HONE AND DRILL (MHD) located
in Madison Heights, Michigan. MHD has been in business
over 30 years. In the last 15 years, MHD has built up
a full service deep hole drilling/gun drilling service
to compliment the honing service (Click on Deep Hole
Drilling Service).
MHD currently has over 30 hones in operation. These hones include vertical hones, horizontal hones and multi-spindle single pass hones. This bank of equipment enables MHD to respond to virtually any honing requirement up to 15Ó in diameter and 9 foot lengths.
Michigan Hone & Drill has so much honing capacity in place that it is capable of honing 25,000 gears per day on an emergency basis for large producers of transmissions. The company is also capable of honing large quantities of engines, drums and connecting rods on an emergency or permanent basis.
Michigan HoneÕs business is derived from production, prototype and short run parts. We can hone all types of surfaces: metallic, non-metallic, hard and soft, big and small. Honing applications include gears, connecting rods, engines, cylinders and other heat treated parts.
In addition to honing, the company has a fine bank of deep hole/gun drilling
equipment. Michigan Hone and Drill can be totally responsible
for the hole geometry and stock removal since we both
drill and hone.
