Vibratory Finishing
Our Automated Deburring
plant has a combination of bowl type and rectangular
type vibratory finishing machines. We also have corn
cob dryers utilizing bowl and auger type dryers. The
vibratory equipment ranges in size from 2 cu. ft. to
100 cu. ft..
The combination of the media
provide the necessary elements to successfully finish
the part. The bowl type vibratory finishers have an
eccentric mounted weight mounted inside the center section
of the bowl. This weight provides the spiral vibration
action necessary to deburr and clean parts.
The vibratory action can
be adjusted to control metal removal and feed rate for
separation of media from parts. The media and the parts
move around the bowl in a circular spiral motion. A
typical ratio of media volume to parts volume could
be 3:1 to 6:1 depending on the part configuration and
desired finish.
There are many media choices
in the configuration and material substance. These choices
include aluminum oxide, metal, plastic and ceramic.
The configuration can be of any size and shapes; such
as cylindrical, triangular, rectangular, etc.
Media is selected to produce
the desired result. For example, plastic media could
be used for light to medium deburring and would also
be suitable as a pre-treatment for painting applications.
For burnishing and minor edge-breaking-case hardened
steel, media could be used.
Chemical compounds and rust
inhibitors are added at a metered rate to facilitate
the cleaning action. Each system has a simple control
panel. Certain aspects of the process must be controlled:
RPM, media attrition, and media size and shape to prevent
lodging in holes and crevices. Our large 50,000 sq.
ft. facility with 7 docks and two shift operations enables
Automated to turn parts in 24 hours.
The plant is ISO 9002 registered and, of course, service
is the name of the game.
